After the the first stage shredding by single shaft shredder, the wasted cable will be transported by conveyor through a magnetic separator so as to remove iron from the material, and then sent to granulator for the second stage shredding. It is generally using the GC series granulator for secondary shredding. GC Series granulator is high speed granulation machines designed especially for the efficient size reduction of various materials in a single pass. These machines are ideal for processing a multitude of materials including plastics, rubber, fibers, copper cable and light non-ferrous metals etc.
With high-speed rotating props for cutting, combined with a smaller mesh size, the cable can be shred into small particles about 3mm.
After twice shredding processes, the size of the wasted cable becomes pieces. The copper and plastics have been separated thoroughly,but they are still mixed. In order to separating the two different materials, they will be sent to the gravity sorting machine by wind. Due to the different weight of copper and plastic, they can be separated completely and then collected. The purity of the separated copper can reach 99.5%. The recycled copper can be reused to manufacture new cables or other products.
